Our Baby Turned 1

We had a birthday dinner at my parents house with the Wells and Hawkins family
for Siena. It was so much fun to get to celebrate her special day with family!
"Blowing out her candle"
Measuring up the task she has ahead of her

Loving every minute of it
guilty pleasure:)
What was in the bag was way less exciting than the bag itself...she took turns
carrying her three bags around like a purse

Halloween

Friday night we had a ward Halloween party so we all had to dress up. I made Siena's ladybug costume a while ago so Parker and I had to come up with something that kind of went with it. I decided to be a bumblebee and Parker was a bug catcher.

She was anxious to get out the door and go trick-or-treating with the kids
We took Siena trick-or-treating with her uncle Blake the Oompa-Loompa
She definitely had her favorites (anything that rattled when she shook it)
but she still had to search the bowl to find the right one!
At the end of the night the little ladybug flew home on Daddy's shoulders

Strike A Pose

The ever-so-talented Kati Ellis took some pictures of our baby girl since she is approaching 1 year (I can't believe it)! She was a little hard to photograph as she was walking all over the place and wanting to grab Kati's camera but Kate still got some really good ones. Here are a few...

(The headband only lasted for about 2 pictures)

I love this face!
Thank you Kati!!!!!

First Football Game...Go Cougars!

Saturday we went down to San Diego to see BYU play SDSU at Qualcom stadium. It was Siena's first football game!
We went down with the Wells family and Gibson and Siena were adorned in their BYU attire
My sister Erica bought her this BYU t-shirt and I had to make a little hair clip to match with a "Y" on it for the game. This picture is blurry because she was dancing to the music during halftime
We met up with my mom and dad who were there cheering the cougars on as well and we had to get a shot of her with the boys

We also found the McLanes and Siena was excited to see a fan there her size...they both complained together about all the noise during this picture.
All in all she was a true blue fan and was pretty focused on the game:)

P-Town

We took our first long road trip to Utah and survived! Siena and I rode with the Wells family all the way through both ways. I was worried how it would go since Siena's not a huge fan of her car seat and we also had her little cousin with us, Gibson...but they both did really well. She was welcomed with open arms by her "cousin" Marina (my cousin Kristi's little girl).
We got to stay in their big, beautiful new house and it was fun to see these girls being best friends already. It was so good to see my sister who is going up to school at BYU and my sister-in-law who's also up there and my cousin Kristi who is like a sister to me! I also got to see friends who are still up there and Siena got to meet some of them for the first time! (I didn't do a very good job at taking pictures of everything but here's a few)
Last visit with the Aunts at Maglebys Fresh for some french toast Maglebys Fresh for some french toast (a close 2nd to Kneaders)
We took a break on the ride home in St. George at Parker's grandpa's house and Siena and Gibson got to get their wriggles out!
She missed her Dada (SO DID I!) while we were gone and said "dada" everyday asking for him so they were both so excited to be reunited! It was our first trip without him...work is keeping him really busy so he wasn't able to join us
She was so excited to be back in her own crib that she took advantage of every angle:)
I don't know if you can tell but she is actually sitting up and laying on her leg...how do you sleep like that?!

On The Go

Siena is constantly exploring. Now that she is more mobile she is always on the go and her curiosity gets her into all kinds of trouble:) I know this is only the beginning...wait 'til she's walking! We went to the beach and she had to put her hands in the sand and then of course taste it.
We found some hermit crabs that she thought were hilarious and kept laughing then trying to grab them.
Our friends from Australia, Kieran and Ange, were here visiting for the week so I had an excuse to get next to nothing done and just play while Siena and I showed them around town during the day.

What's New:
Now a big 10 month old, it has been a month of new things for Siena...

With two teeth fully grown in and one just peeking out of her gums, Dr. says it's time to practice brushing our teeth! She mostly just sucks the sweet toothpaste off of the brush and then uses it as a teething toy as she gnaws on it but at least we can say we try!
She is using everything and anything to pull herself up to stand and can even stand with no hands. We're excited for her first step but it hasn't quite happened yet

She has also decided that she would like to feed herself. I usually fight her on it for a few bites but eventually just let her have the spoon and go to town. She is taking many more baths these days as she usually ends up with food in her hair, ears, eyelashes etc.

And she has become a dancing machine! Any music that comes on on the tv., hymns at church, radio...anything, she is waving her arms and bouncing her legs. It makes me SO happy and we have dance parties all the time.

Wrapping up Summer

This month has flown by! We celebrated Parkers' moms' birthday August 10th with a big surprise bbq. Thanks to all those who came...it was a big success!
Happy 50th! She doesn't look it:)

Then we headed off to Lake Mead. This is one of my favorite pictures of Siena driving the boat with Daddy

We took many a swim in the Lake and Siena and her cousin Gibson were sitting pretty in their baby floats
Hanging out with the girls! Her favorite snack on this trip was our sunglasses
We put her to work as flag girl with Grannie

Parker showed off his moves on the Wakeboard but at a price...he ended up getting 3 holes in his eardrum
I think they are trying to decide whose hat is cuter...it's a toss up
I wiped out on the wakeboard but didn't want to waste this water so decided to slolom since I don't have enough skill to wipe out on a ski (not that I have skills on a wakeboard either) but can you believe that water!
Boat hair...even babies are susceptible to it!

It was a great trip with the Wells family, we had a lot of fun!
